Lia has used food throughout all her practice as a way to bring people together, nourish them and create a space of generosity and warmth. In 2017, after having her first son Lia embarked on Plant Based Native- a food project that explored utilising ancestral foods for healing and connection. Lia has been catering the Ngamumu workshops with postpartum meals from around the world over the past three years and offers intimate catering experiences that showcase Australian Native ingredients.
Lia has developed menus and facilitated workshops in healthy cooking in remote Aboriginal communities and hosted a pop-up restaurant at Creative Accomplice.
Lia recently completed the Marigold Ancestral Kitchen Apprenticeship and continues to explore food as a creative and cultural medium as a way to support the first 1000 days and families.
