TEXTILE / FIBER ARTIST
Lia has been weaving and crafting for as long as she can remember. Taught to her by her grandmother, Lia has always used textile and fibre art as medicine. Lia has exhibited in several group shows across Australia including

FOOD
Lia has used food throughout all her practice as a way to bring people together, nourish them and create a space of generosity and warmth. In 2017, after having her first son Lia embarked on Plant Based Native- a food project that explored utilising ancestral foods for healing and connection.

NGAMUMU
Ngamumu (For Mothers) is a creative and cultural project that supports mothers, their babies and families during the first 1000 days. Artists Lia Pa’apa’a (Samoan/Luiseño Native American), Merindi Schrieber (Kuku Yalanji) and Johannah Maza (Yidinji/Meriam Mer/Irish) work across art forms and methodologies with communities exploring ancestral practices.

WORKSHOPS
Lia is a multi-disciplinary artist that delivers creative workshops across Weaving techniques from California and the Pacific as well as appliqué, embroidery, sewing and food preparation and cooking. Lia can cater to your needs to run creative workshops face to face or online via zoom.
